Nail Art: Scales and Triangles

I was on a trip and didn’t realize until a week and a half into this nail polish job that my iPad can take photos (yes, I pat myself on the back for not giving in to smart phone ownership… yet) so I managed to get this before it all chipped off. I probably need a better top coat. I couldn’t make up my mind on which design to stick with so I did two. The black were supposed to be like scales but I was falling asleep while doing this and they sort of mashed together into something more abstract.
I found a few somewhat long video tutorials on how to make scales that made this seem sort of complicated. I went ahead and made these design steps into single images just in case anyone else wants to try them.

Blue, Copper, Black
I couldn’t make up my mind on what I wanted to do here.
It’s mostly a mess but also turned out sort of cool. Also, I keep forgetting to photograph these until about three days later.

Neutral Colors & Gold

More nail art! I did these three days ago so they have some scratches. I wasn’t originally planning to put the lines on the bottom but then I discovered how much I dislike the french tip style and had to do something about it.
Oh yeah, I got kind of into nail art recently which unfortunately is kind of a waste of time. This was my dark blue and gold attempt at the refinery29 black and gold nails. It probably would have been smoother without two other colors under the gold (which of course you can hardly see).
